Do a search online for ways to find or generate leads and you will get a lot of results. In fact, that might be how you learned about programs that let you search thousands of websites at once; classified websites are a great way to increase your client base. Having many choices is nice, but it can hinder your ability to find and covert leads. So when it comes to finding or generating sales leads, what should you keep in mind?

Tip #1 – Don't Pay Someone to Generate Leads for You

It is important to first note that there are some great professional leads finders out there. Some companies will hand you a list of leads that are targeted to your wants and needs. The problem comes from the cost. You could easily find yourself paying thousands of dollars a month!

Tip #2 – Research If You Opt To Pay Someone to Generate Leads

We aren't completely against hiring a professional to find leads for you (but why do it when you can easily generate your own leads for much less). However, if you do decide to hire a professional, do some fact checking first. Some companies have a history of selling a year old list they bought from someone else!

Often times, you won't find out until it is too late that you basically wasted your money. When you use classified searching websites to make your own list, you don't have to worry. You generate your leads and see the posts or expresses of interests made online; you get more than just a list of emails or phone numbers.

Tip #3 – Never Buy Sales Leads on a Disc

Let me tell you a little story, I was doing a little bit of research for some keyword articles I was writing. Here there over 30 people in the last month who searched for "buy sales leads on disc." Why should you avoid this? Because it just screams old and outdated information.

Rarely will you find a company or an individual who is willing to search for updated leads, burn them to a CD, and them mail them out. Most of these so-called CDs filled with leads are already prepacked. Yes, a list of phone number is leads, but don't you want targeted and viable sales leads?

If trying to find people looking to buy the cars you have for sale, you want to make contact right away before they do buy a car. In this instance, leads that are even a month old can be way too old.
